08:30 AM – Upstream Departure Board on Eco Safari’s Boat and settle in. As the vessel pushes out onto the waters, the initial hours offer a pristine panorama of limestone cliffs, rural fishing villages along the muddy riverbanks.
12:00 PM – Midday Transit & Onboard Lunch
Relax as the boat cuts deep into the isolated jungle gorges of northern Laos. A freshly prepared lunch is served directly on board, allowing you to dine comfortably while soaking in the passing scenery.
01:30 PM – Cultural Village Excursion
The boat pulls ashore for a guided walk through a traditional riverside village. Meet the local residents, learn about their unique heritage, and local way of life.
03:30 PM – Sunset Happy Hour
One hour before reaching our destination, unwind with a complimentary selection of beverages. Enjoy free-flowing wine, cold beer, and soft drinks as the late afternoon light hits the river.
04:30 PM – Arrival at the Overnight Point
The boat docks at the hillside tier of Pak Beng. Local transfers or porters will guide you up the steep embankment to check into your riverside lodge or guesthouse.

Day 2: Pakbeng – Huaisai – on board cooking class (Sticky rice cake in banana leaves)
08:00 AM – Embarkation for Leg Two Board the boat for your final full day on the water. The river structure shifts on this northern stretch, displaying narrower passages, faster currents, and more dramatic mountain backdrops.
10:30 AM – Interactive Lao Cooking Class Gather on deck for a hands-on culinary experience before lunch. Learn the traditional art of preparing and steaming Lao sticky rice wrapped neatly inside fresh banana leaves.
12:00 PM – Midday Onboard Lunch Enjoy freshly prepared lunch served right on the boat as you cruise through some of the most isolated stretches of the Mekong.
01:30 PM – Village Walking Excursion the boat pulls ashore at a remote riverside village. This stops offers the perfect opportunity to stretch your legs, walk along the local paths, and experience an uninterrupted look into rural life unaffected by major roads.
04:30 PM – Arrival at the Journey End Point Pull into the final docking terminal at Huay Xai (Houayxay). Collect your luggage and get short transfer by van to Thai border.
